Why Choose Our Practice?
Oral surgery is a highly specialized field requiring extensive education and experience. If you have been referred to Coastal Connecticut OMS, your doctor is confident we are the right choice for your oral surgery needs. We are proud of our surgeons and their dedication to providing every patient with the same care and compassion we would want for our own families. We offer many patient benefits that set us apart from others, including:
Gold Standard Care
Both our Hamden and Guilford offices offer the highest standard of care before, during, and after oral surgery. Our surgeons are fully trained in using all forms of anesthesia to ensure our patients are comfortable eliminating anxiety in a pain-free surgical experience. Our staff members are fully trained in surgical assisting and post-op care, and provide compassionate care every step of the way. Educating our patients on proper after-care and follow-up is just one aspect of our commitment to each patient’s quick and complete recovery.
Education & Experience
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons undergo a minimum of four additional years of additional training in a hospital setting, including surgical techniques and anesthesia, after dental school. Our surgeons have undergone training at some of the finest teaching hospitals in the country, including Cedars-Sinai, the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Yale New Haven Health, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. As diplomates, fellows, and members of several oral and maxillofacial surgery organizations, including board certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, they have achieved the highest standards of care in the field.
Our surgeons perform complex dental procedures such as dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, and bone grafts daily. While a general dentist may perform these procedures occasionally, they do not have the same experience or familiarity with the latest techniques. Further, our surgeons provide more complex procedures in both the office and hospital settings, including facial trauma, infections, pathology, TMJ, nerve repair, and complex jaw reconstruction.
Innovative Technology
Oral surgery requires specialized equipment you do not find in most dentists’ offices. At Coastal Connecticut OMS, we invest in the latest materials and specialized surgical tools needed for every form of oral and maxillofacial surgery and are experienced in their use. From 3D digital imaging to the latest surgical techniques and instruments, you can rest assured your treatment is backed by the most advanced treatment protocols and instrumentation available.
For example, Dr. Salomon was the first surgeon to bring zygomatic implants to Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as the first Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon at Yale to utilize a specific protocol for in-situ tissue engineering for facial bone reconstruction.
Friendly Surgeons & Staff
While our patients appreciate our expertise, they say the real difference is how our surgeons and staff treat them. Respect, reassurance, and a calm demeanor are the hallmarks of our approach to patient care. We incorporate humor, patient education, and understanding to ease anxiety and ensure your surgical experience is as painless as possible. When you leave, you leave knowing you have friends who are invested in your recovery. We follow up with all our patients to ensure their health and satisfaction.
Comfort Without Anxiety
A tour of our offices reveals our concern for our patient’s comfort. Oral surgery does not have to take place in a sterile clinic or impersonal hospital setting. We have designed our offices and surgical suites to be relaxing and comforting. You immediately notice the attractive, soothing surroundings when you walk into our Hamden or Guilford office. Large windows with spacious views and comfortable surroundings offer tranquility and ease during oral surgery.
You have options when choosing an oral surgeon. At Coastal Connecticut Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, multiple surgeons are available to meet every oral surgery need. Each surgeon specializes in several surgical areas, ensuring full service and expertise for whatever your oral surgery needs may be.
