Dental Implants

What are dental implants?

Whether you’re missing just one tooth or all of your teeth, dental implants are the most preferred teeth replacement method by both dentists and patients. In the category of both restorative and cosmetic dentistry, they have the unique ability to restore the feel and function of teeth while creating an aesthetically natural look. They are made of three parts: a titanium screw that is placed in the jawbone, an abutment that connects the implant to the crown, and the crown, the part that appears above your gum line.

Dr. Conforti, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Salomon, Dr. Saggese and Dr. Heifetz-Li partner with your general dentist to form a treatment plan customized to your needs and concerns, using advanced technology and the latest techniques. What are the side effects of dental implants?

There are very few risks. Dental implants have been utilized for over 3 decades and have a success rate of up to 98%. The potential for side effects is extremely low and much like that of other minor surgeries – infection, injury to adjacent teeth, etc.

What are dental implants made of?

The actual implant is a screw made of titanium that we place in your jaw. A complete dental implant includes three pieces: the titanium screw, the connector between the implant and crown, and the crown which is visible and looks like a tooth. Once we have placed your implant, your general dentist will complete the process by placing the final crown.

Can I drive after dental implant surgery?

If you do not undergo IV sedation, then you may drive after your dental implant procedure.

I have had 2 molar extractions and a dental implant; all performed by Dr. Johnson. I have a history of dry-socket along with high tolerance to all anesthesia and numbing agents. I was spared the misery of dry socket after my extractions with Dr. Johnson, the level of Novocain was perfect and the implant process went smoothly, with no pain or discomfort! Dr. Johnson is highly skilled, comfortable to be around and very “calming”!

Dr. Salomon and his staff were amazing. I dreaded having my tooth pulled and implant done. Although it took several visits to complete, I never felt pain and everyone was super sensitive to my fears and anxiety. -Very professional and competent.

I needed to have multiple implants and had put it off for a long time because I was scared. Dr. Johnson was so kind and really listened to my concerns. I choose to have my implants done with sedation. My fear of the unknown was so much worse than the actual procedure itself. I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson and his staff.

Very good experience. I have had two other implants done years ago at another place. This one went smoothly, little pain, even the first evening. Thank you.
